Boosting Energy Levels – Sharing Some Natural Tips To Boosting Your Energy Levels When Feeling Lacklustre. Hey, It Happens To Us All But How Do We Deal With It?
Boosting energy levels… what Mark… I just get on with it. Yes, but feeling as though you are lacking in energy is quite a common thing people experience in today’s busy world, our lifestyles have us working long hours, raising families, and consuming ourselves with anything that makes us busy.
We tend to brush off our health and happiness in order to make something of ourselves, but at what cost?
Today I want to remind you of how important you are, and how important it is that you take the time to focus on yourself and your health.
There are many things we can do to help increase our energy levels, to build a healthier body, a stronger mind and more motivation to get us through our busy days. Here are just a few tips that will help you with boosting your energy levels and conquer the mid-afternoon drowsiness.
Boosting Energy Levels – Energy Breathing
Breathing deeply can be healing on so many levels, taking in oxygen invigorates red blood cells and moves carbon dioxide from the body, therefore beneficial to both our mental and physical well-being. Breathing helps to detoxify and strengthen the immune system, approximately 70% of the toxins in our body are released through our breath. Oxygen is actually the most essential natural resource required by our bodies. I want to share with you an energy breathing technique that I use when I am feeling tired or un-motivated, in order to revitalise my body and increase my energy levels to get me through that day with ease.
Here is what you do…
– Breath in as deep as you can into your belly
– Breath out, but only 20% capacity of the breath you previously breathed in
– Breath in again 100% capacity
– Breath out again at 20% capacity
– Repeat this for 1 minute
– At the minute mark hold your breath for 30 seconds and then release.
This form of energy breathing allows you to get more oxygen into your lungs than you usually would, therefore helping with blood flow and getting more oxygen around your body and into your brain. There are many more benefits of incorporating regular breathing exercises into your day, including heightened focus, a clearer mind, lower anxiety, improved mental state and a healthier body all round.
Boosting Energy Levels – Exercise Regularly
We all know regular exercise has many benefits on our heath and wellbeing, but do you realise that regular exercise also increases your energy levels and helps you to make it through the day with a bounce in your step. Regular exercise can improve energy in a number of ways, some of these include;
Exercise releases endorphins – beneficial to a positive mindset and increased enthusiasm.
Exercise also helps with quality of sleep
Exercise helps to manage stress
Exercise also helps to build a healthy heart and getting more oxygen into your blood stream, brain and organs.
Boosting Energy Levels – Get More Sleep
A good night sleep is so important to your over-all health and wellbeing, sleep allows our bodies to re-charge and prepare for the day ahead. If we deprive ourselves of our beauty sleep our body and energy levels really suffer. Here are just some of the benefits related to good sleeping habits.
Reduced stress – Your body is programmed to release a higher number of stress hormones if your body is not well rested, a regular sleeping pattern can help to prevent this from happening.
Improved memory – Have you ever said something like ‘I’m just too tired to think’, it’s just too hard to get your brain functioning to its fullest capacity. Well basically this is your brain telling you that you need to rest. When you sleep, and your body is resting, your brain is working away organising memories and storing information, therefore getting more sleep allows you brain time to sort everything out properly and in turn helping you to remember things better.
Maintain weight – You cannot use sleep as a way to help you to lose weight, but the good news is that it can help you to keep it maintained.
Sleep helps to regulate certain hormones that affect your appetite and curb those cravings.
Helps to heal an unhealthy body – While you sleep your body produces protein molecules that are used to build up and strength your ability to fight infection. Sleep can actually help you to prevent that cold from hitting you hard, if you are beginning to feel a little off, then put yourself to bed and get some much-needed rest and you may just have a better chance of fighting off the nasties.
